Terms of service.
1. Services Provided
By hiring me ("The Guide"), you agree to the following services:
Trip Planning: Custom itinerary development based on your preferences, including recommendations for accommodation, dining, attractions, and transportation.
Pre-Arrival Assistance: Guidance on setting up digital payment, VPN services, and essential travel apps.
Private Guided Tours: Sightseeing and execution of a customized itinerary based on the selected service package.
On-Tour Support: Assistance with logistics and recommendations for a smooth experience.
2. Payment Terms
Please refer to the latest rate card on the website for final pricing.
A 50% deposit is required upfront to confirm the booking.
Payments are accepted via credit card, subject to a 5% transaction fee that Stripe (the payment platform) charges.
If the client wishes to settle the payment face-to-face using Alipay, the payment will be in CNY, and Alipay will charge a 3% transaction fee.
The remaining balance, along with any additional expenses paid by the Guide on behalf of the client, must be settled in full at the conclusion of the tour.
3. Cancellation & Refund Policy
Full Refund: If canceled 72 hours or more before the trip starts.
50% Refund: If canceled between 48-72 hours before the trip starts.
Non-Refundable: If canceled within 48 hours of the trip start time.
⚠️ Important: Refunds will not be issued for trip disruptions due to flight changes, cancellations, or delays. Please ensure you and your travel party have travel insurance.
4. Fees & Expenses
My fees do not include external expenses such as meals, attraction tickets, and public transportation unless explicitly mentioned in the rate card.
Private transportation can be arranged at cost.
If I am required to travel outside Shanghai, the client will cover all expenses, including transportation, meals, and accommodation.
Clients are responsible for booking their flights and accommodation. While I can provide suggestions and advice, I do not make reservations on behalf of clients.
5. Privacy & Data Protection
All submitted personal information will be kept secure and not shared with any third party without explicit consent.
Clients may be required to submit their passport information for attraction or ticket bookings.
All client information will be deleted after the purpose of booking is fulfilled.
6. Tour Duration
Full-Day Tour: Minimum 8-12 hours
Half-Day Tour: Maximum 4 hours
Additional hours may be subject to extra charges.
7. Photography Services
To help capture and create lasting memories of your trip:
The client gives consent for the Guide to take photos during the tour.
Photos will be refined before delivery (cropping, color enhancement).
Photos are for the client’s personal use and will not be shared publicly without the client’s consent.
If the client does not wish to have photography services, please communicate this in advance.
8. Client Responsibilities
Clients must disclose any health conditions and dietary restrictions in advance.
Clients are responsible for their own travel and medical insurance.
Clients must adhere to agreed-upon schedules to ensure a smooth experience.
9. Third-Party Vendors
I reserve the right to outsource services to other reliable vendors or third-party guides based on availability.
10. Limitations of Liability
The Guide is not responsible for the following:
Attractions & Closures: Changes in attraction availability due to weather conditions, government regulations, private events, or unforeseen circumstances.
Weather Conditions: Any impact on the itinerary due to inclement weather, natural disasters, or hazardous conditions.
Force Majeure: Delays, cancellations, or disruptions caused by strikes, accidents, government actions, pandemics, or other unforeseen circumstances beyond my control.
Personal Loss or Injury: Clients are responsible for their personal belongings and safety throughout the trip. It is strongly recommended to have travel and medical insurance.
Transportation Delays: Any delays or cancellations caused by airlines, trains, or other public/private transportation services.
Appendix: The Guide’s Intentions
By hiring me, you acknowledge that The Guide’s primary goal is to accommodate you, The Clients’ general needs and preferences during your tour in China. The Guide's aim is to create a memorable and enjoyable experience, ensuring the best possible outcome for your journey.
